“You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds.
Except the one in which you belong.”

– David Whyte

About me

My journey has taken me from being an engineer and journalist to a senior Media & Information Executive, to an organic farmer and for the last seven years as a Sound Therapy Practitioner and Gong Tutor. I am a lover of Nature and have a keen interest in Nutrition and health.

Discovering My True Purpose

Along the way to discovering my true purpose – helping others become the best versions of themselves while living happily and healthily – I have gathered a diverse set of skills and knowledge as a mentor, photographer, yacht master, wood craftsman, and co-owner of a smallholding in the Yorkshire Dales. I now enjoy sharing my unique blend of experiences through my offerings in Sound Therapy and in crafting personalised items, mostly from wood. My aim is to introduce as many people as possible to the benefits of sound therapy.

Living on land for the past 20 years has shown us how to create environments that help others reconnect with their authentic lives. This often involves encouraging people to think less and feel more. However, old habits can be challenging to break, and sometimes individuals need a little help to get “reconnected.”

My extensive background in the Media, Digital, and Events industries at a senior executive level revealed a consistent truth: people who are happy in their jobs tend to excel at them. Encouraging authenticity in the managers I worked with led to positive outcomes, so while the leap from managing media and events businesses to becoming a professional Sound Therapist and crafting personalised Talking Sticks may seem unusual, there are deep connections between the two.

My Sound journey

Given the personal and impactful nature of a Sound Bath, it’s important to choose a facilitator who is an accredited Sound Therapist. My journey in sound therapy began in 2018 with Lyz Cooper at the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST), where I became an accredited Group Sound Therapy Practitioner. The BAST website features excellent research studies that highlight the benefits of sound therapy.

Two years later, I continued my training for another two years with Sheila Whittaker at the College of Sound Healing (CoSH). I started as a Gong Practitioner and progressed to become a College Gong Tutor. I have also had the privilege to perform alongside distinguished Gong practitioners such as Master Don Conreaux, Aidan McIntyre, Bob Horwell, and Sarah Waite (part of the Gonging for Humanity team) at The World’s Grandest Gong Gathering at Olympia in London.

Additionally, I have completed further training in Integral Soundwork with Jens Zygar, the inventor of the Paiste planetary tuned gongs and the founder of Klanghaus, a research institute focused on the effects of sounds and rhythms. I am also a Practitioner Member of the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA).

Wood Crafting

With my training as an engineer, I have always enjoyed creating with my hands. My father, a photographer, taught me the basics of photography, sparking my creativity. Now, living close to nature on a smallholding allows me to combine my practical skills to craft unique themed objects from both native and exotic woods, helping individuals express their true selves and focus on their life’s purpose.

My custom-made personalised artifacts include hand-carved “Talking Sticks” and exquisite multi-wood rattles. More recently, I have introduced “Nature’s Bracelets” for both men and women.

SoundBaths and Gong Therapy

Despite the name, SoundBaths do not involve any actual “bathing.” They are part meditation and part listening experience. These therapeutic musical sessions use modern interpretations of ancient instruments such as gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, and a variety of tuned percussion instruments (like chimes, bells, and drums). Participants lie on mats, allowing the harmonious sounds of the instruments to wash over and through them to encourage an overall improvement in health and wellbeing.
